Why Do Patients and Dermatologists Love The Lumenis M22 IPL

The Lumenis M22 IPL is a tool favored by both dermatologists and patients alike. It's easily one of the most highly requested aesthetic treatments in Los Angeles and here's why:

#1 Gentle on Your Skin

Patient comfort is a big priority at BHSkin Dermatology and the Lumenis M22 IPL allows us to offer just that. Its unique ability to cool between pulses helps to minimize any discomfort experienced by a patient. You may feel a subtle stinging sensation but it doesn’t last long. If you’re concerned about pain, then ask your BHSkin dermatologists what options you have in making your experience seamless.

#2 A Safe System With Multiple Uses

The Lumenis M22 IPL is not only FDA-approved but clinically proven to get results. You’ll feel comfortable knowing that your skincare expert can adjust the settings based on your customized skincare treatment plan, skin color, and skin type.

#3 Perfect For Busy Patients

Don’t have time to sit in a dermatology clinic for hours and hours? Not a problem. The Lumenis M22 IPL treatment is great for patients that are on the go in Glendale and Encino. Most treatments only take 20 to 45 minutes, but the time ultimately depends on the areas being treated. Since it’s a non-invasive treatment, you can expect to return to your regular daily activities right after.

#4 Long-Lasting Results

If you follow your treatment plan and have good skincare practices, then you can expect long-lasting results. We’ll assess your results after the procedure to see if you will require additional treatment sessions. It may take a few sessions to see the best results.

How Does It Work?

The Lumenis M22 IPL works by penetrating the dermis layer of the skin to create heat. The heat creates small controlled wounds called micro-injuries. When the wound heals, the body removes damaged blood vessels and old skin cells, replacing them with healthier, more desirable cells. As the skin heals itself, it also produces collagen and elastin, promoting skin tone and texture. However, these are minor and part of the healing process. The tiny injuries that are created by the procedure will quickly close up, causing no lasting damage to the tissue. The final result will be new, radiant skin that has reversed the hands of time.

Before, During, and After Treatment

To determine if IPL treatments are the best for you, schedule a consultation at BHSkin Dermatology. We'll let you know what the best treatment is for you based on your unique circumstances and goals. In general, IPL isn't recommended for darker skin tones or raised scars. IPL may not work as well on uneven areas of the body or light-colored hair.

During IPL Treatment

We may apply a topical numbing gel or cooling agent to maximize patient comfort. It truly depends on the type of treatment being done. You will likely feel a warm sensation where the light is being applied to the skin.

After IPL Treatment

Following your treatment, it’s normal to notice skin flushing for up to 24 hours. Also, swelling is common, especially if you have sensitive skin. You may also notice that some areas of the skin darken and feel dry, but it will return to its natural state in less than a week.

Lumenis IPL Laser Reviews

The Lumenis M22 IPL reviews are exceptionally positive both from the patients who’ve tried it and the specialists who have used it. Patients particularly appreciate that there are so many different kinds of treatment from one device. The fact that the Lumenis IPL laser reviews as being comfortable, painless and has no downtime between treatments is a major bonus.
