How is Your Skin Doing?
In order to personalize your skincare routine, it is important to identify any potential issues that cause you discomfort or less-than-ideal looking skin. Here are a few of the most common non-medical issues that many patients experience. ● Dry skin, which tends to feel/look flaky, scaly, and/or rough.

● Wash. Cleansing your face once or twice per day is an important way of keeping acne, oil, and clogged pores to a minimum. However, washing more than twice per day can actually be counterproductive, as it tends to cause dryness. Which brings us to our next point…
● Moisturize. Again, moisturizing at least once per day is probably a good idea for everyone — those who struggle with dry skin may wish to moisturize trouble areas twice daily.
● Applying and Removing Makeup. Of course, you don’t need to wear makeup if you don’t want to! But this step makes the list because many people do use makeup, and it is important to choose an option that will not adversely affect your skin. Always choose makeup that is non-comedogenic, especially if you struggle with acne. Last but not least, makeup should always be removed before sleeping — even if you’re tired and it’s been a long day!
● Sunscreen. If you are going to be exposed to the sun, apply sunscreen. Period.
● Acne Treatments. Those who use medications such as Benzoyl Peroxide to treat their acne should ensure that they perform their acne routine at roughly the same time each day: consistency is key in order for these products to have an optimal effect.
