IPL Laser Treatment
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a wide-wavelength modality that can be used to target the signs of sun damage, rosacea, blood vessels, and hair removal. We use the Palomar Starlux 500, the gold standard in IPL treatment, in our office for the treatment of red and brown on the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands, as well as for hair removal for the entire body.

Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing is ideal for acne scarring, scarring, wrinkles, and photodamage. There are two main types: ablative fractional resurfacing and nonablative fractional resurfacing.
Nonablative fractional resurfacing lasers do not damage the top layer of the skin and have minimal downtime with only a sunburn appearance. These lasers are ideal for mild acne scarring and mild wrinkling around the eyes and mouth. Approximately 3-5 treatments are needed to see results.
Ablative fractional resurfacing lasers damage the top layer and the second layer of the skin, and do have a 1 week downtime with crusting, oozing, and scabbing. These lasers are ideal for all types of scarring and wrinkling, and is the gold standard of laser resurfacing. Only 1 or 2 treatments are needed for results. Caution must be exercised with darker skinned patients as light areas and dark areas may result from this treatment.
